WHAT TYPE OF HANDLES SHOULD YOU CHOOSE FOR YOUR NEW KITCHEN

When it comes to designing a kitchen, we at Steam like to think that it’s the little details that make all the difference! This meticulousness, a sign of quality work, is a source of pride. Our passion for finishing touches has always given us breathtaking results.

When redoing the kitchen, it can be tempting to cut corners on these details, which may seem unimportant at first glance. Cabinet handles are the perfect example. In many situations, people choose a lower-cost option that “does the job.” And while handles should never be the focal point in a kitchen, they should nonetheless complement the style. They are a sign of the care taken in the design.

Here are some timeless types of handles that will highlight your attention to detail without taking up too much visual space.

The Traditional Handle

Traditional design is often timeless. Although it can be tempting to consider bar-shaped or button handles as boring, we can assure you they are not! They have a clean, neutral design that complements all kinds of styles from retro-looking kitchens to minimalist ones.

The Protruding Handle

The protruding handle is discrete but practical since it is easy to grasp. Appreciated for its elegance and versatility, it comes in several formats and materials and can be installed horizontally or vertically. Since it provides continuity with the cabinet, it offers a stylish and clean finish.

The Recessed Handle

Ideal for custom designs, the recessed handle comes in several shapes, materials and colours, depending on the cabinet door. Its more assertive look is original, unique but in harmony with the kitchen’s design.

The Edge Handle

This one says it all: a designer handle is not necessarily expensive! In addition to its low price, the edge handle is discrete, showcasing the cabinets. Often made of metal, this handle makes it easy to open drawers and cupboards. The edge handle is particularly well suited where bold materials are mixed, like wood and bright colours, or marble and a veneered cabinet finish.

The Finger Grip Handle

Used for “handle-free” kitchen concepts, the finger grip consists of a notch that’s invisible at first glance but that opens drawers or cupboards. This type of handle is custom built to create a slick, clean design, free of visual distractions. And while this option may seem impractical, rest assured that the notches are designed to make furniture easy to open. If a very pared-down style speaks to you, this is the handle for you!
